PROGRAM SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)
PSO1: Identify, formulate, design, and investigate various problems of electrical and electronic circuits, power electronics, and power systems.
PSO2: Apply modern software tools for design, simulation, and analysis of electrical systems to engage in life- long learning and to adapt in multi-disciplinary environments.
The Labs have been equipped with a number of excellent model Boards and teaching kits designed by the Department staff members. The Department has achieved above 95% result in V and VI Semesters since 1982 for the past 25 years, of which More than 6 times secured a place in the State Rank list. The students are placed in Tamilnadu Electricity Board as Junior Engineers, Assistant Engineers and Technical Assistants.
Apart from finding jobs in TNEB, many of our students have joined reputed companies like HCL, ESSAR STEELS, L&T, SAINT GOBAIN, SUZLON, etc. In the past 30 years, sizable numbers of students have become successful entrepreneurs.
UG Cables were laid throughout the campus from Power house to all the wings of the Institution by our Lab Assistants under the guidance of our Head Of Department and the same has beeen approved by the Electrical Inspectorate. Around 25 demonstration Boards and Training Kits were prepared by our staff Members. Higher Rating Machineries like 100 KVA Transformer, 40 HP Motor, 3 HP Motors, 5 Ton AC Machine donated by Sakthi Sugars Ltd. were serviced and erected at our laboratories for imparting a thorough practical knowledge to the students.
Additional laboratories like EDC lab, Power Electronics lab, ADE lab and Micro Controller labs were established at the initiative of our department staff members. An Electrical CAD Lab with the latest Computer Systems with Pentium IV Processors was established with the assistance from the Central Government under MODROBS Scheme.
