CANADA INDIA INSTITUTIONAL CO-OPERATION PROJECT

K.SARAVANAN M.E.,MS(ENGG) ., MISTE., HOD / ECE The institution has been selected as one of the CIICP Polytechnics under phase –IV Replication Polytechnics during 2001-2002. CIICP as it is known, The Canada India Instructional co-Operation Project aims to strengthen the polytechnic system through Human Resource Development by using the existing facilities and available resources to render useful, effective, technical, technological and social service to the public particularly the rural folk in and around Sakthinagar, there by helping them to attain social and economic upliftment.

MANDATE

Sakthi Polytechnic College, a Govt. aided Co-educational Institution is to offer technician level diploma programmes in Engineering & Technology by following the curriculum and evaluation methods to the candidates selected according to state Govt. prescribed norms. The Institution administered by a Governing Council is approved by AICTE. This institute is committed to uplift the rural community by offering training, consultancy and other services through continuing education programmes under CIICP. The Institution will offer programmes for the upliftment of rural youth under Community Polytechnic Scheme sanctioned by Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Govt. of India from January 2002.

MISSION

Sakthi Polytechnic College, Sakthinagar, a co-educational institution is to provide technical education & Training at Diploma level (Post Secondary Level). The Institution aims to disseminate continuous education in formal and non-formal areas by the maximum utilization of the available resources for the betterment of the rural community. The institution seeks to accomplish the mission by Providing the conducive teaching learning environment for the all round development of the individuals. Offering quality engineering Diploma, Certificate and other need-based job-oriented courses, training and services to meet the demands of the present day industrial and employment scenario. Developing the skills in youth to improve their economic advancement and to eliminate unemployment. Developing the skills in women in order to make them self-reliant and self-supportive to improve their social and economic status. Creating awareness among the public about today’s environment and take preventive measures for avoiding pollution. Laying emphasis on the continuous development of students and staff towards the emerging trends in technology. Dedicating ourselves to obtain high ethical, moral and professional standards through innovation and transparency in the methodology of working. Striving to create the State- of-the-art facilities to develop the institution as a model one in the State.
