Sakthi Polytechnic College is functioning under the aegis of Sakthi Foundation Trust. Padma Bhushan Dr.N.Mahalingam,the famous industrialist and educationalist was the promoter and president of the foundation. The main objective of this institution is to impart quality technical education to the rural students. Sakthi Polytechnic College started functioning in September 1981. Initially three year Government Aided Diploma courses were offered in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. Courses on Electronics and Communication Engineering and Metallurgy are being offered from 1983-84. The course on Agricultural Technology is being offered from 1984-85. The self-supporting courses were also started in subsequent years. Computer Engineering course is offered from the year 2002-2003, Instrumentation and Control Engineering from the year 2003-2004, Mechanical Engineering from the year 2010-2011 and Metallurgy Engineering from the year 2014-2015 under Self Supporting Scheme. It is a matter of pride that Sakthi polytechnic college was the first institution in this area to offer conventional Diploma Courses. The institution is managed by a Governing Council with Dr M.MANICKAM Executive as Chairman. Representatives and experts from the fields of education and industry form the members of the Council. The institution has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE).The institution is located in an extensive area of 31 acres at Appakudal, Nachimuthupuram on Bhavani-Sathyamangalam Road. This institution has opened up avenues of higher education and employment opportunities in all over the state.It has also gone a long way in fulfilling the dreams and needs of the people of Tamil Nadu at Erode District in the field of Technical Education.
